Telecommunication Rights Poster

  • Concluding the semester, a poster was to be designed to either direct a viewer to seek more information or as a “call to action” piece.  The poster design chosen was a powerful image of technology entangling the user as symbolism of increasing internet censorship right here in the United States.  The wire not only entangles the hand that is using the peripheral, but is also the primary text of the poster.  It is a call to action piece for viewers to contact their local government representatives to repeal a House Bill that would further limit rights online.  The piece only uses shades of blue and white, as well as black, as limited color theory is a personal graphic style that I enjoy using.  Blue is also historically a staple color of the internet as it is found in ethernet cords, icons, and web directories across multiple cultures and nations.
