  • this explorative process work explores the japanese concept of wabi sabi: finding beauty through imperfection and transience ¦ using knitting as a medium to capture the impermanent, evoke a feeling, embrace a quietude, or create a texture ¦  the dress was knit on a 10 cut shima machine utilizing the uncontrolled quality of the press off stitch with a controlling rib structure, exploring an asymmetrical and sideways drape ¦ samples explored the press off stitch, jacquard pattern, macrame, hand manipulation of silver coated nylon and animal fibers, and natural dyeing with shibori techniques ¦ moving forward, work will explore knitted fabric for interior spaces meant to inspire, fulfill, and interact.
