I have always been mesmerized the shadows and the lighting as the sun is setting. The vivid colors of the sky against the dark shadows and silhouettes of the skyline create a dramatic and mysterious effect. And as the colors start to fade and the night sky peeks through with sparkling stars. While researching I came across a statement that reflects the mystery of the event, explaining that dusk is just the illusion of night and day at the same time. Taking this inspiration I wanted to make an eveningwear line that captures the dramatic elegance that happens as the sky transitions.
My line consists of a mix of cocktail dresses, gowns, and jumpsuits. Many of my silhouettes are form fitting and then have a shear over layer or swooping bottom that would flair out when they moved. Movement is a large part of statement of the gowns. When it moves the dress will flow and exaggerate the movements. The line consists of silk Charmeuse, silk chantung, organza, and silk chiffon. My color pallet is mainly inspired from the saturated jeweled tones of the sky and the deepened green of the grass as the lighting dims.
