Vista hairbrush

  • A multidisciplinary project between industrial design undergraduate students and occupational therapy graduate students to design an assistive device for a client with a disability. The exchange of knowledge between two different fields of study demonstrated the importance of collaboration in the process of designing a product.
  • Sydney is a 11 year old girl living with athetoid cerebral palsy. She wants to become more independent, especially when brushing her hair. 
  • The Vista hairbrush is lightweight, is conformed to Sydney’s hand, and has a curved handle that helps her to reach all of her hair. The brush breaks down into two parts for portability.
