My Capstone senior project is Imprint, an imagined publishing company that markets classic literature to adolescent girls. After sketching various ideas, I chose a wax seal design as I thought it paid homage not only to the name of the company, but to the era that the books take place in.
When shrunk down in size, the type was not readable, so I experimented with a larger, more condensed font. It still wasn't reading, and so I abandoned the idea of type inside the seal.
I tried different options but settled upon a cameo silhouette with the type underneath. After getting feedback that the girl looked too modern, I eventually settled on the last design shown here.
I then experimented with color.
Before settling on the logo you see here.
