The Viaduct Biking Center enhances the need of the community while repurposing the viaduct train tunnel which has allowed the movement of trains under the city while traffic patterns above remain unaffected. Bikes are faster and cheaper then the conventional Vehicle in the city and therefore a bike center is a greater benefit to the public. The Viaduct Biking Center plans to make biking available to all. By re-utilizing the abandoned rail road tunnels to create an underground highway for bikes, so that bikers can avoid the dangers of vehicle traffic. The Viaduct Bike Center has a public cafe and restrooms situated at the pains park Skate park level for use of the park . The tunnel is utilized for bike parking and storage. The main information office and the locker rooms extends out of the tunnel into Eakins Oval in front af the Philadelphia art museum to allow access to the neighborhood beyond. Rising up through Eakins oval the Viaduct biking center is visible and acts as advertisement for the biking center from the art museum drive to Martin Luther King jr highway.
