The Mexico U.S.A border is a highly contested border. Small skirmishes between the USA Border patrol and the Mexican drug cartels is a usual occurrence along the border, as is the daily flood of illegal immigrants crossing the 2,500 mile border. Americans see the border as something that protects their very way of life. The American Solution to this crisis has been to build a wall. Nations have used walls, fences, and natural geographic features to prevent unrestricted passage at their borders for thousands of years. However for Mexican citizens wishing to enter the U.S.A illegally, the existing border fence has proved to be largely ineffective. They dig tunnels, fly planes, build small temporary bridges to cross through unnoticed. The hope is that one day breakthrough will become one of the world’s great contemporary cultural art museums. Transcending political divisions while uniting cultures communities and nations. The building would become an economic generator for both border towns as well as a symbolic landmark of unity. Breakthrough is a hopeful statement about healing this torn edge between two great nations. The only way to break the tension is to break physical and mental barriers that are placed between them. Breakthrough the social, economic, and political obstacles. Find a way to rebuild the ideals that will benefit both sides mutually. Then remend the broken edge ending the tension.
