The interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements, best describe synergy. The focus of this collection is to reflect synergy created with experimental drawings from the following areas: placement and positioning of elements, effects that are created and the formation of a hybrid creature. Placement and positioning of elements are crucial when creating a print design, however, when combing two objects the placement is even more crucial to achieve credibility of the motif. Scale is an important aspect when placing an object or multiple objects together. The direction or movement of the print will be determined by how these aspects come into play. I tried to vary different scales from foreground to background in order to achieve interesting effects. I studied many of M.C Escher’s theories that explained how any object and plane can be divided following mathematical logistics and the study of geometric shapes that create tessellations.
