Every great architectural space and the feelings/moods created inside them are only possible due to the assembly details within them. Mies van der Rohe said, “God is in the details.” Charles Eames said, “The details are not the details, they make the design.” This project documents architectural spaces on a macro level and then zooms in to the particular details within the space.
The inspiration for this project is the work of Andy Goldsworthy. The way he sees the world as a series of components which can be rearranged and made into something beautiful not previously seen by the eye is captivating. Understanding the materials around him is key for all his work. Each of the finished pieces are only made possible by the small components which compose them. This project is about understanding the inner workings of an architectural space and the small components which were used to compose them.
