Levis, meaning to levitate, is a dragon boat house designed specifically for the Barbados Island in Norristown. The building celebrates the island’s past by wrapping itself around a central green space. The building responds to the islands industrial history by celebrating its existence through an industrial Brushed-metal Veneer. As the building curves more to the north, the building opens up to the nature around itself and engulfs natural elements at its core as to say- The islands future looking forward would be a revived, active site, filled with greenery and life.
The initial response the site and the client was a space that float its user high above the island, overlooking its sceneries. As the client expressed, the space that would characterizes the Boat house is the pool as it serves the core purpose of pursuing training in this boat house and becoming better Dragon boat user.
