This spring 2015 active wear collection was inspired by the fluidity and movement as seen throughout the works of the young and up and coming artist featured at Miami art basel 2014. Two artist in particular, Korakrit Arunanodchai and Jean Baptiste Bernadert, perfectly capture the spontaneous nature of various paint mediums. Quick brush strokes, splashes of color, and multiple visible layers meet on canvas to provide viewers with a kaleidoscope of color that evokes a sense of energy and movement. It is this precise feeling which my collection aims to mimic with its combination of vivid prints and fluid textures.
This collection is intended to bring it’s wearer high end, creative, yet still highly functional athletic wear. With more and more women choosing to wear active clothing even outside of the gym, there a growing demand for this market. Indeed, there is a good deal of active wear brands on the market, however many brands lack the aesthetic sensibility to translate high fashion trends and details into performance wear. My goal with this line is to bring a wider variety of performance wear to those women who lead extremely active lifestyles, yet they still desire to maintain the same standard of quality and aesthetic in their “gym clothes” as they do in their designer cocktail dress.
