Turned a torn up couch my dog created into a redesigned couch that I created. Beginning with squaring off the cushion, patched the edges and holes with denim and lined the outside exposed plywood with stained maple trim. After reorganizing the existing structure underneath, the bottom was blocked with plywood and a shimmed 2x4 helped to define the new compartment.. The final component, the new seat/counter, needed to start with a single piece of stained wood to cover the opening. One side is upholstered with using foam, staples and denim. The other is a precast piece of high strength concrete, painted in stone sealer and screwed into the board. Each screw hole is also coated in rubber so any spills will not drip into the foam cushion on the other side.
