  • It’s 22-year-old Ivy Galloway’s last summer in her childhood home on the Chesapeake Bay.  She just Graduated from New York university with a degree in Urban Studies and Affairs, and has taken a job in Denver Colorado as a city planner; she is due to be starting the September following her college graduation.  She loves where she grew up, and she loves her parents.  Her parents met in college, her mother majored in botany and her father in veterinary medicine so they have always grown plants and kept animals on their 40-acre property on the bay.  This place has always been a haven to her, even though she has always identified strongly with life in the city, she loves coming back home every now and again to unplug and destress.  Because she was in college, she didn’t really have a reason, or the energy to ‘look cute’ very often, so she doesn’t have very much stuff to wear that is on trend, and this summer she finally has the chance to express herself through her clothing just like she used to do in High School.  She’s in the market for trendy clothes that remind her of home, but also for clothes that she can continue to wear in her new career.
This collection is inspired by her childhood home, full of rustic woods, dried herbs, animals, and the bay she holds so dear.  It is full of lightweight linen, cotton sheers, and very tactile novelty fabrics to capture Ivy’s life on the Chesapeake as well as to give her stand-out looks to start her new life in Denver.  The collection is designed with the trend and color forecasts for Spring/Summer 2019 in mind, and falls into WGSN’s Common Ground report.
