Kroyers Plads Seed is a conceptual proposal for a public space and structure that cultivate social interaction and agriculture on the waterfront of Copenhagen's inner harbor.
-
Kroyers Plads is near destinations like Noma and Det Kongelige Teater, yet devoid of accomidations for residents.
-
To inform the public space I explored connections and circulation around Kroyers Plads. First finding the site could use a stronger link between the harbour and the canal and a more pronounced and accomidating edge along the waterfronts.
-
Simulataneously, I thought about the building's footprint and relation to the site. The final footprint is highly porus to encourage waterfront use while providing shelter.
-
-
The proposed waterfront provides residential and mixed use accomidations, vertical agriculture, increases canopy cover, and allows pedestrians access to swim.
-
As seasons change on the waterfront public activities can shift from exterior to interior spaces.
-
As people interact on multiple levels, atop sits the greenhouse structure. Inside produce is grown for CSA subscribers.
