This project is for the packaging of a DIY bird feeder designed by industrial design student Matthew. The feeder comes in strips of plastic that can be popped out and formed into the feeder. The packaging holds the sheets inside along with directions to build the feeder. The outside of the packaging was inspired by the modern design of the horizontal striped feeder, and as you walk past or move the packaging back and forth the image of the bird begins to fly. To carry on the animated feature the seed packaging has a thomatrope on the front and when it spins the bird flies just like the feeder packaging. When the thomatrope is romped from the seed packaging an indigo bunting fact is revealed.
